To the Gulf Islands School District Learners, Staff, and Communities:
It is my pleasure to welcome each of you to the 2019/2020 school year. The first week of the school year is filled with optimism, stories from summer, and the joy of meeting new friends and reconnecting with old. During all that excitement, we can take a moment to think about the year ahead and all that we will accomplish together.
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the maintenance staff for all of their hard work during the summer to clean and polish our schools in preparation for the return of staff and students. To the many volunteers and family supporters of our schools, I am appreciative and looking forward to working alongside you to make the school experience for each learner one of great success and meaningful experiences.
Earlier in the summer, I had the opportunity to work on School Plans with the Principals and Vice-Principals of our schools. I am impressed with the focus on learning and the dedication to healthy and welcoming leaning environments that came out of those discussion. I know that this year will be one of great strides and explorations in so many areas. Families, please feel free to contact teachers, administration, and/or the School Board Office for any questions or concerns.
School District 64 (Gulf Islands) is a wonderful place to be, to learn, and to grow.
