I am pleased to report that students and staff are settling into the new school year. While every school strives to create a unique and supportive learning environment, throughout the district we are working toward some common goals.

The goals in this year’s Achievement Contract for School District 64 are:

  • All students are progressing toward greater competency in foundation skills.
  • All students experience a successful transition from school to their adult lives.
  • To pursue the goals of the Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement district-wide.

This year, we will be continuing to strengthen our collaborative culture in the Gulf Islands while we work on our common goals. Many of our employees are using collaborative inquiry to focus on meeting the needs of our students and ensure “Learning for All.” We recognize that all students don’t learn in the same way, or at the same speed. Additionally, we are strengthening systems that provide teachers with increased opportunities to work together and focus on meeting the needs of all students.

Stay tuned for ongoing updates this year about “Learning in the Gulf Islands”!
